The S-Lift is a mini-facelift that provides an overall lift to the lower part of your face. It is a quick painless procedure, which is performed in the office and does not require general anesthesia. It provides natural looking results with fewer complications and less down time than the traditional face lift. The S-Lift is performed using tumescent local anesthesia and may be combined with neck liposuction.

Ideal candidates for the S-Lift are men and women who are in good general health and have mild or moderate laxity in the face and/or neck.

An anesthetic solution in injected into the area in front of the ears. This fluid gently lifts the skin away from the underlying structures. The doctor then removes a small flap of skin from the area in front of the ears and suspends sagging facial structures. The opening is closed with fine sutures and the incision line is hidden in the natural skin folds.

Over the next 24 - 48 hours you will rest and relax. A special face band is worn continuously for 72 hours. Afterwards, it is worn only at night to sleep for the next six weeks. Normal activity can be resumed in 4-5 days.

How is the surgery performed?

The face and neck are “put to sleep” with a special anesthetic solution. This fluid helps to lift the skin from the underlying tissue and helps to minimize swelling and bruising after the procedure. An island of skin is then painlessly removed from in front of the ears. The area is then closed with fine sutures. The incision will be hidden in the normal skin folds.

What happens after surgery?

Over the next 24-48 hours you rest and take it easy. A special bandage is worn over the incision site and a special facial band is worn continuously for the first 72 hours. After 72 hours the facial band is worn nightly for the next 6 weeks. You may take Tylenol or a mild prescribed pain reliever. Sutures will be removed after 6-8 days.

Can I shower and exercise?

You can shower and wash your hair after your wound check on the day following surgery. You can resume normal activity after 4-5 days and can resume exercise after one week.

What will I look like after the surgery?

You will look refreshed, you will not look like you’ve had “work done”!

How long will the results last?

Results should last 3-5 years. To further enhance the results of the S-Lift, chemical peeling or fractional laser resurfacing may be performed at the same time or at a later date.
